Yaadein is a film about an arrogant man who almost loses his family because of infidelity and ill temper. Anil one day reaches home to find it deserted by his wife Priya and two children Pawan and Geeta. Anil panics about their disappearance as he thinks about the big fight he had with Priya.

Anil remembers how, when Priya confronts him about having an affair, he responded by accusing her of infidelity as well and eventually slapped her. Later, he finds a letter from Priya detailing her decision to leave him along with the children. He calls the police to complain in order to get his children back, but decides against it, since this would adversely affect his reputation.

Flashbacks trace Anil and Priya’s relationship, from their first meeting to him asking her to marry him. The memories of his happiness and excitement at the birth of his son and later his daughter are followed by the slow deterioration of their relationship as she becomes increasingly absorbed by the children. Despite his love for his children, he resented having to vie for Priya’s attention with them.

As Anil moves through the house, holding his wife and children’s belongings, he nearly breaks down. Wrestling with his guilt, he nearly hangs himself with Priya’s saree. At this opportune moment, his wife and children return and save him. Finding him in this condition, Priya feels beholden to live with him again. She moves back into the house with the children, reuniting the family.
